The current level of remuneration is £95 per day plus travel and other reasonable expenses. Board meetings are held both in person and virtually. Two of the four annual meetings take place at locations across Wales, with virtual attendance available, while the remaining meetings are held online via Microsoft Teams. The appointment is for an initial three-year term with an average commitment of at least one day per month. The closing date for applications is 31 August 2026.

Adnodd is responsible for ensuring the provision of Welsh and English teaching and learning resources to support the Curriculum for Wales and its qualifications. Its vision is that all learners and practitioners, regardless of background, have access to high-quality educational resources that inspire learning, support wellbeing and encourage a lifelong love of learning. Adnodd works closely with partners across the education sector and is accountable to Welsh Ministers.

We are recruiting three Board Members to help shape the strategic direction of Adnodd. As a Board Member, you will support the Chair in setting organisational priorities, monitoring performance and ensuring that Adnodd fulfils its legislative responsibilities effectively. You will play an important role in providing strategic leadership, constructive challenge and oversight of governance, risk and performance.

Successful candidates will bring senior-level experience and sound judgement, with the ability to analyse complex issues and contribute to effective decision-making. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience of organisational transformation, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, communications technology and/or cyber technologies. You will be able to work collaboratively, provide independent challenge when required and demonstrate a strong commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism.

Candidates must have Welsh language skills at Level 4 or above, with interviews being conducted principally through the medium of Welsh. Support will be available for successful candidates wishing to further develop their Welsh language skills. Desirable experience includes educational leadership, digital product development, cyber technologies, practitioner experience within an educational setting and lived experience as part of a disadvantaged or underrepresented group.

Board Members will work alongside experienced education professionals, sector leaders and partners, while benefiting from a programme of professional learning and development covering areas such as cybersecurity, data protection, risk management and artificial intelligence.
